Overview
Function: An 8-channel NVR serves as the central hub for your surveillance system. It receives video feeds from up to 8 IP cameras, records the footage onto an internal hard drive or external storage, and provides various features for video management and playback.
Storage Capacity: The NVR typically has internal storage, usually in the form of hard drives, to store the recorded video footage. The storage capacity varies depending on the specific NVR model and configuration. You can also expand the storage capacity by connecting external hard drives or using network-attached storage (NAS) devices.
Network Connectivity: An NVR connects to your IP cameras and other devices (such as a monitor or router) over a network. It should have Ethernet ports to facilitate the network connection.
Video Management Features: NVRs offer various features for managing and analyzing surveillance video. These can include live viewing of camera feeds, simultaneous recording from multiple cameras, motion detection, scheduled recording, event-triggered recording, and remote access to view and manage the system via computer or mobile devices.
User Interface: The NVR should have a user-friendly interface that allows you to navigate through settings, configure camera parameters, and review recorded footage.
